In November 2018, Enrichment Services Program, Inc. received funding from the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services’ State of Hope program to establish an innovative community-wide coalition, with the aim of reducing poverty in the region and improving the well-being of local families. After an initial planning period, the Chattahoochee Valley Poverty Reduction Coalition (PRC) was established in January 2019 with the mission to explore high-impact strategies to create one connected regional system of services that:
1. equips families with the resources needed to achieve financial self-sufficiency,
2. promotes economic equity, and
3. continually improves opportunities across generations.
Although originally focused on Muscogee County, the CVPRC is actively expanding its reach throughout the Chattahoochee Valley. The CVPRC utilizes the principles of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI), focusing on family-identified needs and potential solutions, to drive system-wide change. Instead of operating as individual entities, community partners and stakeholders are working together to create a coordinated system that removes barriers for families seeking to change their circumstances and achieve economic self-sufficiency.
The CVPRC upholds the dignity of the individuals we serve, our staff, and our volunteers, as we work together to build and support strong, resilient families within our community. We value the diversity represented both within our coalition and our community and believe our work is best accomplished by collaborating across sectors as an integrated system.
